Since our epic Road Trip, four new national parks have been established:


White Sands National Park in southern New Mexico

America’s 62nd national park was designated by the U.S. National Park Service as a National Monument in 1933, and re-designated as a national park on December 20, 2019. This is next on our list, stay tuned!


Indiana Sand Dunes National Park in Northwest Indiana

America’s 61st national park was designated by the U.S. National Park Service as a National Lakeshore in 1966, and re-designated as a national park on February 15, 2019. We explored it over a long weekend in late 2019.

Gateway Arch National Park in St. Louis, Missouri

America’s 60th national park was established by the U.S. National Park Service on February 22, 2018. We paid a quick visit in November, 2018. We are planning trips to this, and the other newly designated national parks in the coming year. When we can safely go…

New river gorge national park & preserve in Southern west virginia

America’s 63rd national park was established by the U.S. National Park Service in 2020. A rugged, whitewater river flowing northward through deep canyons, the New River is among the oldest rivers on the continent.
